Parapet
A low protective wall along the edge of a roof, balcony, or similar structure.

Particle Board
A board made from wood particles and a binder, used for cabinetry and other indoor building projects.

Pendant
A hanging ornament in architecture, often decorative.

Pier
A vertical supporting structure, such as a pillar.

Pilaster
A rectangular column that projects slightly from the wall, mainly decorative.

Plenum
A space or chamber forming part of an air conditioning or heating system.

Plumb Bob
A weight suspended from a string used as a vertical reference line.

Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC)
A synthetic plastic polymer used in building for pipes, window frames, and other components.

Post-Tensioning
A technique for reinforcing concrete by inserting steel tendons through its length and tensioning them after the concrete has set.

Precast Concrete
Concrete elements that are cast and cured in a factory setting and then transported to the construction site.

Purlin
A horizontal beam along the length of a roof, resting on principals and supporting the common rafters or boards.

Punch List
A document listing work that does not conform to contract specifications, typically listing things to be fixed before final payment.
