Mansard Roof
A four-sided gambrel-style hip roof characterized by two slopes on each of its sides.
Masonry
The building of structures from individual units of stone, bricks, or concrete blocks, often bound together by mortar.
Mastic
A strong adhesive used in construction for bonding ceiling, wall panels, and floor tiles.

Metal Lath
A building material used as a background for plastering, consisting of sheets of meshed metal.
Miter Joint
A joint made by beveling each of two parts to be joined, usually at a 45° angle, to form a corner, typically a 90° angle.
Millwork
Woodwork, such as doors, window casings, and baseboards, pre-fabricated at a mill.
Mortise and Tenon
A strong wood joinery method where a projecting tenon fits into a mortise.
Monolithic Slab
A type of concrete foundation with a thickened perimeter that forms an integral footing.
Mortar
A mixture of lime or cement, sand, and water used for bonding bricks and stones.
Mullion
A vertical bar between the panes of glass in a window.
Muntin
A strip of wood or metal separating and holding panes of glass in a window.
